As education leaders and innovators, we believe that the key to creating a better future lies in the power of education. That's why we've created the Teach 2050 Fellowship – a global initiative dedicated to co-creating the many futures of education through hands-on professional development, innovation, and collaboration. The Teach 2050 Fellowship is an evidence-informed professional development program designed to empower in-service educators and education leaders to foster impactful experiences that enable human flourishing.
We believe that if professional development is designed and implemented strategically, it can significantly improve teacher effectiveness and student achievement. That's why we offer a carefully-curated and progressively-structured experiential program that is tailored to the needs and experiences of our participating fellows and includes a blend of design thinking, systems thinking, and the Teach 2050 Circular Pedagogy of Hope and Action
"Educators have the power to shape the very future of society and humanity. Through their teaching and leadership, they have the ability to inspire and empower the next generation to become responsible and compassionate global citizens. As the architects of the future, their work has the potential to shape a brighter tomorrow for us all.”
The Teach 2050 Fellowship is established with a mandate to co-create the many future of education and contribute to realizing the Dublin Declaration on Global Education 2050, the Education 2030 Agenda, and the Revised 1974 UNESCO Recommendation concerning Education. We aim to do this by empowering educators and education leaders to implement transformative approaches to blending technology, content, pedagogy, strategy in their classrooms and schools.
Through the Teach 2050 Fellowship, educators and education leaders will benefit from the knowledge, skills, frameworks, competencies, and collaborative environment to accelerate continuous professional development needed to the shaping of the many futures of education.
The main challenge that the Teach 2050 Fellowship aims to address is ineffective professional development, which is characterized by a one-size-fits-all approach, lack of relevance to the needs and experiences of teachers, or a lack of follow-up support or resources to help teachers implement new skills or practices in their classrooms. International initiatives such as the Dublin Declaration on Global Education 2050, the Education 2030 Agenda, and the Revised 1974 UNESCO Recommendation concerning Education have recognized the importance of addressing teacher capacity in order to promote global citizenship education and foster positive change in our schools and communities.
The Teach 2050 Fellowship aims to break the habit of ineffective professional development for educators by providing a tailored, experiential program that equips them with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to implement transformative pedagogical approaches in their classrooms. By participating in the program, educators and education leaders will gain the tools and resources they need to drive positive change in their schools and communities and contribute to the shaping of the future of education. Through the use of design thinking, systems thinking, and the Teach 2050 Circular Pedagogy of Hope and Action, the fellowship aims to empower educators and education leaders to co-design and co-create the many futures of education and drive systemic change.
The actual cost of ineffective Professional Development is inestimable as it affects aspects beyond the measurables. Ineffective Professional Development is an expensive engagement. Here are some of its effects:
Prescriptive CPD may feel good & structured, ibut t may not always be practically relevant and may not effectively meet the needs and goals of individual educators.
Ineffective CPD can limit your professional growth and advancement.
Ineffective CPD can contribute to work-life imbalance and an unhealthy work environment.
Without access to quality CPD, educators may become demotivated and disengaged, which can lead to a lack of enthusiasm and energy in the classroom.
Without access to effective CPD, educators may become stagnant in their practice and may not be able to keep up with the changing needs and expectations of the profession.
With your invaluable time, money, and effort. Ineffective CPD is more expensive than effective CPD.
A lack of effective CPD can lead to decreased job satisfaction and a higher turnover rate for educators.
Educators who do not engage in effective CPD may not have access to contextually relevant teaching strategies and methods, which can lead to lower student achievement.
A lack of effective CPD can have a negative impact on the overall education system, leading to a decline in the quality of education and a lack of trust in the system.
Professional development, if designed and implemented strategically, can significantly improve teacher effectiveness and student achievement. Therefore, educational institutions and all stakeholders must start thinking strategically about their Professional Development programs and efforts.
Our approach, breaks the habit of ineffective professional development for educators. Join us in making an impact and co-creating the many possibilities and futures of education, now!
